Brody getting ready for his first doctor's visit to see Dr.Brown
_________________________________________________Yesterday was Brody's first trip to the doctor. He is up to 8lbs 4oz so the weight is going back up. This is good news because as first time parents you never know if you are feeding enough often enough. The doctor said two things that made my day:
1. You look good.
2. You are doing everything right.
What a great doctor huh?!
The last few days have overall been good. Feeding is something that you just can't plan for. I have learned you just have to figure it out as you go. C-sections are not helpful when it comes to milk production either. Our biggest challenge is learning what to feed, when to feed, how much to feed and how to feed it. EVERYONE has their opinions which contradict each other. I spoke with the lactation consultant yesterday and we have a "plan" which I feel good about. So we will try it for a few days an adjust if needed.
The most common question: How are the nights going? My answer: Great! We have Brody on a pretty structured eating schedule which continues through the night. Right now I wake him up twice to eat and normally he goes right back to sleep. Knock on wood we haven't had any nights of tears and tears.
Second most common question: How are you healing? Good. As long as I take my pain meds on time the pain is tolerable. Our stairs are easier than what I anticipated. I have a stool to help me get into bed. Bending over to pick things up is a challenge. Energy level is higher than what I thought it would be. I just have to remind myself not to push it.
