.weekend review.
this last weekend brody and i headed down to corvallis for the weekend. my brother ricky, his wife eryn and daughter zoey came up from cottage grove to visit on saturday! we met at a toy store play room. it was a fun filled weekend! brody was a little under the weather..now i am. i have more pics to download but here are a few pics that my brother sent me.

.problem solved.
I seldom write about my parenting questions, problems, techniques and whatnot but had an interesting break through this week I thought was worth sharing with whomever reads my blog…
Sleep. Brody is a decent sleeper. He wasn’t great at first but Brian and I put our heads together, read a few books and worked to teach him how to sleep. If you want more information on my thoughts on this feel free to email me. I’d love to share.
This last week he was waking up twice a night which was totally out of the norm. He wasn’t teething (he just cut 4 top teeth prior), he wasn’t sick, not hungry…what was causing the wake up??!! When we would go and comfort him he didn’t want to be put down, again totally out of the norm for Brody.
Brian was with him one night and felt that the temp was a little low in his room. So the following night we put a little heater (ok spare your safetly comments..everything was done safely.) and we warmed his room. Two nights in a row…back to the norm…all night long.
Go Brian. Way to trouble shoot. Brodster was just a little cold.
i do want to thank my real BFF Stephanie...(refer to last friday's post for my not so real BFF..) for doing lots of research to why Brody may be waking up. I guess this goes prove that sometimes you can research and research and research but the cause and solution is not always to be found on paper but in your instincts.

.hall closet.
brody is on the upswing. after a mucinex and a cup of coffee i started feeling a little better, but not great. i was washing the dishes and could hear brody playing with the water bottles in the hall closet and this is what i found...
yes he is still in is pj's. we had a pj day. apparently i need to clean the hall closet..hehe.

brody is sick with a cold. christina is sick with a cold. we are both sick and we are both home for the day.

.i'm thankful.
i was reading through the last several months of posts.....do i sound angry and bitter? eekks if I do because today i was just thinking how fortunate and content I am right now. just feeling blessed this Sunday afternoon...so I thought perhaps I should dedicate a post to THANKSGIVING! Here are the things I am thankful for (in no particular order...)
- my new church community
- i don't work weekends
- brody's smiles
- my husband
- health
- my mom and dad and that they are GREAT Grandparents
- my job, i really like what i do and the people i work with
- my friends
- although completely materialistic.. my house and my neighborhood. i love where i live and the people that live around me.
- i'm thankful for Jesus and all his attributes ( heard the line "he's our shelter in the storm" today..i liked that)
- zoo memberships. i'm excited to bring brody there when the weather clears up!
- clean water because not everyone has it
- tax returns
- my new church community
