i decided that with our tax return i'd hire mr.maid to come and deep clean our house. i'm bad at deep cleaning..dusting..exc..
so today was the day!
i loaded up sammie the doggie and with the intent for her to spend the day in the back of the truck in her crate. brian and i loaded up the crate last night. this am her and i drove to work. she rides in the cab.
we got to work and parked in the parking garage. it's a 3 story parking garage and i park at the top. i parked at the end because sometimes sammie gets excited and barks. anyway...i let her out of the cab and she ran all around. happy happy sammie. no one was around. then she ran up to the edge of the parking lot and intended to do one of two things...
1. Look over and her momentum took her over
2. Jump unknowing it was 3 stories up
Anyway..she went over the edge..down 3 stories.
i screamed and ran.
i thought for sure i would find her dead at the bottom. but she wasn't. she was hobbling around in shock. a nice woman who didn't see the fall but saw sammie stumbling around stopped to help. we loaded sammie up and i headed to the animal hospital downtown portland. brian met me there.

upon the initial medical examination the doctor said she could only find one fracture or break in her toe and a missing tooth. xrays of the leg confirmed she has fractured toe. her lungs appear to look ok right now. she is staying the night in the hospital in ICU with the hopes to return home tomorrow.
we visited her tonight and she has a splint on her entire leg for her toe. we helped her eat some food. although she was pretty drugged she was happy to see us.
praise jesus for tax returns and the bush that broke sammies fall.

oh my word. I would have flipped out. if it makes you feel any better, we used part of our tax return money on getting one of Brun's teeth pulled. not what I wanted to spend the money on, but you can't help but love those brutes.
Oh.MY.GOSH!!! OH poor Sammie!! And poor you!! That must have been so scary!! I"m so glad he's okay!!!
