Psalm 139

New perspective of the Psalm...

Psalm 139:13-18

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

I've always read this verse in the perspective of God talking about me. It's super cool to read it now with the perspective of God talking about your child...and your womb. And that he is knitting a human being - my son - in my womb, that my son is fearfully and wonderfully made, his frame is not hidden from him, God can see his unformed body...

I am excited to meet the little guy but I wonder if God is even more excited to show us his little creation that he is giving to us to raise. I wonder if God is in Heaven during delivery bubbling over with joy at the thought of showing you (his child) your child. He's been working on him for several months and now it's time for you too see?!

Lastly, it's a reminder that he's not MY SON. He belongs to God. I just get to raise him here.

These are the things I think about.
